Full-Time Firefighter/EMT
Notice of Testing

The Freeport Fire & EMS Department is proud to serve the citizens of Freeport, Jones Creek, Oyster Creek, Quintana, and the surrounding rural areas of Brazoria County with a combination of full-time and reserve firefighters and EMT’s. The department currently maintains staffing and primary response from Station 1 with reserve equipment available at our other facilities. We also share Station 2 with the Freeport Parks Department where they administer the Community Service Program for local offenders who are ordered by the court to perform community service. The department provides basic fire protection and basic emergency medical services for approximately 20,000 residents of the Brazosport area, responding to approximately 2,400 calls per year. Our ambulances are registered with the state as BLS (basic life support) with MICU (mobile intensive care unit) capability. In addition to emergency services, the department is active in the community with many fire prevention programs and is the Emergency Management organization responsible for coordinating the city response to severe weather or industrial events. The department maintains tropical storm and hurricane readiness year-round.
