Updates Regarding Tropical Systems
NEW UPDATE [5:00 pm Monday, 9/21/20]:
This is an update from The City of Freeport as of 5:00 pm, Monday, Sept. 21st.
Please remain cautious as this will be three-day weather event, from Monday through Wednesday.
The National Weather Service predicts winds up to 30 mph, and rainfall up to 10 inches in low lying areas. We have begun to see high water and debris on roadways, including Hwy 332 in the Bridge Harbor area toward Surfside. TX DOT may close roadways as needed for your safety.
We continue to monitor the storm and prepare for potential impacts. We will keep you informed through Everbridge Citizen Alert, Facebook and our website, www.freeport.tx.us. Thank you from the City of Freeport.
The City of Freeport management and Office of Emergency Operations monitor the tropics as systems development and meet with state officials to determine the path of systems and the safest actions for residents.
