Freeport Historical Museum & Visitors Center

The Freeport Historical Museum & Visitor Center was established in 2009 and showcases over 300 years of local Freeport history. A fantastic collection of original artifacts and models detail what life was like in the Freeport area from the occupation of Spanish Texas, to the establishment of the town in 1912, to the once-booming Shrimping capitol of the world.

Currently, our hours are:
Sunday Closed
Monday 9:00am to 5:00pm
Tuesday 9:00am to 5:00pm
Wednesday 9:00am to 5:00pm
Thursday 9:00am to 5:00pm
Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm
Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm
Staff are available Monday through Friday for facility rentals.

Haunting Tales of the Texas Coast.......Returns

The Haunting Tales of the Texas Coast returns to the Freeport Historical Museum. The exhibit runs the month of October.

The Freeport Historical Museum is located at 311 East Park Avenue.

Museum admission fees are:

$5 adult
$3 child, senior and military

Fright Night!

The City of Freeport presents Fright Night!

This event will be held at RiverPlace on October 28, 2021.

Please bring a canned food item for donation.

The event will be from 5:30-8:30pm.

Don't come alone.
